Tips to plan your photoshoot during the Olympics

Plan ahead

Given the hustle and bustle around the Olympics, it’s crucial to plan your photoshoot in advance. Take into account the event schedules, possible delays in transportation, and the likelihood of crowds.

On our end, we’ve decided to schedule fewer photoshoots than usual to allow for flexibility and adapt to any unexpected changes. Long-form sessions will be preferred.

We’ll also come up with a backup location for all photoshoots during this time in case of unforeseen closures or changes.

Embrace the Unexpected & Be Flexible

Embrace the unexpected and stay adaptable! With the Olympics in full swing, you can expect some unexpected events, road closures, or last-minute changes. While it’s crucial to have a plan, some of the most unforgettable moments can happen spontaneously. So, let’s stay open to the adventure and simply go with the flow. Rest assured, we are fully prepared to navigate any surprises that may come our way.

Safety & Patience First

Some areas, particularly those near competition venues, will have restrictions during the Olympics. We’ll always prioritize your safety and won’t ask you to venture into places we shouldn’t be. Additionally, it’s important to remember that we’re sharing this public space with others, so let’s exercise patience when it comes to dealing with crowds or traffic in the background.

Trust your photographer and maintain open communication

Effective communication and trust will be key this summer.

We are committed to keeping ourselves updated with the most recent information. We’ll stay in the loop about the event schedules, venues, and any specific rules or regulations. With this knowledge, we’ll be able to guide you appropriately and prepare you for each unique photo session.

We kindly ask our clients to install WhatsApp on their phones. This will provide a quick and direct line of communication in case of any changes or incidents leading up to, and during, your session.

Some extra, local tips to navigate Paris during the Olympics 👍

Use Public Transportation

We really can’t emphasize this enough: traffic in Paris can be quite the challenge throughout the year, and with the Olympics bringing million extra people to the city, plus road closures, things could get a bit… well, chaotic to say the least. Your best bet is definitely to use public transportation. Even if we extra the network to be a lot busier than usually it will save you a lot of time (and stress!).

We advise you to download the apps “Bonjour RATP” and “Citymapper” before your trip to help you navigate the network.

Plan ahead and book early.

With the Olympic Games drawing in a huge crowd, choices can quickly become scarce. That’s why we strongly advise getting a jumpstart on your plans. Want to dine at that must-try Parisian restaurant? Book your reservation ahead of time! Got a list of activities you’re itching to do? Secure your spots early on platforms like Viator – they offer a super flexible cancellation policy that’s a lifesaver for any last-minute changes.

Stay safe

With large crowds of tourists inevitably come pickpockets. But don’t worry, a little common sense goes a long way to avoid any trouble!

We suggest not carrying designer bags that could attract unwanted attention. Consider using a crossbody bag and always keep it zipped. Be extra cautious with your phone, especially on the metro. Try not to carry large amounts of cash and leave your passport safely at the hotel. Consider straps and bags with anti-theft features like this one :

Be Flexible and don’t Overplan

Be sure to prioritize the top experiences you don’t want to miss, but resist the urge to over-schedule your itinerary. Leave some breathing room for spontaneous adventures and unexpected finds. After all, those unplanned moments often turn into the most cherished memories from your trip!

Remember, it’s perfectly okay not to tick off everything on your to-do list. The beauty of travel lies in experiencing the pace, culture, and vibe of a new city, especially one as charming as Paris. So, take your time, wander in the beautiful streets, savor the local cuisine, and soak up the Parisian atmosphere.

Stay Informed

Stay in the loop about any sudden changes, traffic news, or unique Olympic events. Using apps or websites focused on the Olympics or local updates can be a great way to stay informed. Don’t forget to check out the official Paris 2024 website or local news outlets for the most accurate information.
